Hello, and welcome everybody to the first edition of the Student Journal, the newspaper of our school! Yes, it might sound cliché but we had to start it somehow. This is the result of a process that was proposed months ago and we proudly present today.
The idea of a school newspaper arose towards the end of the school year, which was actually my first studying in Hungary. Personally, I love writing, the media and journalism in general. Moreover my intention is to dedicate my life to it and I hope to be studying journalism at a university somewhere in the word next year. The impact newspaper articles, TV reports, radio talk shows or informative blogs have on people and their way of thinking fascinates me. I consider that being informed is something basic and it is one of my dreams to be part of this vital process in first person.
We do not expect our newspaper to be the typical school newspaper that nobody reads or takes care of. We want to make this newspaper a useful tool for all the layers of the school’s community while keeping in mind that the central figures of it are the students. Students from many different grades are participating and we expect more pupils to join the project. Every month there will be articles about current affairs, technology, education, culture and social life in Budapest to give just a few examples. Furthermore, the staff have many more ideas in mind to incorporate in the following editions and, with that, encourage the SEK community in Budapest to read us.
Enjoy the reading.
